An Upstate New York original.
The CSO is central to what makes New York Stateβs Catskill and Leatherstocking regions so special. Founded in 1953 by a committee of community members interested in hosting orchestral music in their hometowns, the CSO officially incorporated in 1974. Since then, the CSO has dazzled countless audiences and provided the region with continuous, live symphonic music throughout the years.
With strong regional support, an exceptional composition of professional union musicians and devoted leadership, the CSO is steadily growing and stands as Upstate New Yorkβs premier hometown symphony orchestra.
