Father Chris - A Le Cabaret Guest Conductor Candidate Profile
Father Chris Welch, also known as Father Chris, is a well-known figure in the Oneonta community. He serves as the Pastor of St. Mary’s Oneonta, St. Paul the Apostle Hancock, and Minister of Holy Cross, Morris, and St. Joseph Deposit. As a pastor, he provides pastoral care to the Catholic community and presides over services at the churches.
In addition to his religious duties, Father Chris is an active member of the Oneonta Historical Society and Catskill Symphony Subscribers. He also serves as a board member of the Hancock Rescue Squad, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of his community.
Music has always been an important part of Father Chris' life. He considers himself an avid patron of the arts and has acquired a diverse collection of LPs, CDs, and DVDs over the years. He enjoys listening to a wide range of music genres, including classical, folk, opera, Broadway, and jazz.
Father Chris was honored to be invited to participate in the conductor’s contest. Despite his lack of professional experience in this role, he is confident in his abilities and trusts in the orchestra to make up for it. He is eager to lead the best regional symphony in the area and hopes to bring his passion for music to the stage.
