RYAN WEST GERAGHTY is an arts administrator, marketing professional, and event producer, boasting over 20 years of experience at diverse organizations ranging from nonprofit and arts to media and educational institutions. Currently, Ryan champions her role as the Marketing and Communications Director at the Destination Marketing Corporation (DMC) for Otsego and Schoharie Counties. In this capacity, she embodies the DMC's mission: stewarding local economic vitality through tourism generation and destination management. This crucial role impacts various aspects, from business development, historical preservation, and pride of place to ensuring an enhanced quality of life for residents and offering a memorable visitor experience.
Previously, as the Managing Director at Paperkite, Ryan collaborated with a talented team of designers, photographers, and digital marketing mavens, crafting innovative designs and marketing strategies for clients in the destination, tourism, education, and food and beverage sectors. Her vast portfolio includes her tenure at Townsquare Media where she held esteemed titles such as Market President and Chief Revenue Officer. She adeptly managed eleven local radio stations, including notable names like WZOZ, WDOS, and WSRK. Besides these feats, Ryan is credited with developing iconic local events like Snommegang, The World’s Largest Yard Sale, and Cooptoberfest. Between 2012 to 2018, she produced a plethora of live events spanning across the US, with some gathering as many as 20,000 attendees.
In the realm of non-profit event production, Ms. Geraghty's mark is evident. As the Assistant Director of Performing Arts at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, she passionately programmed the children’s performance series and musical shows at their Summer Arts Festival. Ryan’s expertise also extended to managing an historic theater in Scranton, Pennsylvania, at Lackawanna College, known for hosting over 100 concerts and performances annually. Furthermore, she adeptly served as the Assistant Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the College.
Ryan is an alumna of Cooperstown Schools and holds an Arts Administration degree, specializing in Theater and Music, from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Having recently moved from Cooperstown to Oneonta with her family, she is brimming with enthusiasm to work with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra executive team and board of directors, all set to present a mesmerizing 70th season to the community.
